Cipriani Carpaccio
In 1950, Countess Amalia Nani Mocenigo was advised, for health reasons, to consume only raw meat. To accommodate her needs, Giuseppe Cipriani created a unique dish inspired by the Piedmontese specialty “carne cruda all’albese.” He named the dish “Carpaccio” after Vittore Carpaccio, the Venetian painter renowned for the distinctive red and white hues in his artwork.
The Original Bellini
In 1948, Giuseppe Cipriani, inspired by the Venetian painter Giovanni Bellini, created a pink fruity drink by pureeing his beloved small white peaches. Unbeknownst to him, this drink would make a significant impact on the world of cocktails, becoming an iconic staple that is still enjoyed today.
